This week started with my cover designer, Marc Meyer, officially agreeing to do the cover for the third book of the Scorched Earth trilogy. I e-mailed him the example I showed you guys a couple of weeks ago, along with the character designs and an explanation of what I have in mind. Now the ball is in his court, leaving me to finish writing the book in the meantime.
Outside of that, I focused mainly on completing chapter nineteen, while still brainstorming the future of the Fire Angel Universe. On Wednesday night, as I was about to turn in, I decided to watch a new video that DC Comics had just put up on their YouTube channel… BIG MISTAKE! The video was about their next major storyline and it made me start thinking about my future characters to the point where after I’d climbed into bed and switched off the light, I was still thinking about them!
Meanwhile, I finished chapter nineteen and wrote the opening of chapter twenty, before jumping around the chapter with a few random lines as the general idea began taking shape. I then noticed that I have about three chapters left to finish before the first twenty-two chapters are complete. Guess what I’ll be working on for the foreseeable future!
