The Revolution Diaries part 3

Fight scenes were the order of the day this week, and I spent much of it working on the final big fight of the third book of the Scorched Earth trilogy. As I write this blog, I’m working out the last half of the fight, with the outcome already written. What also has me excited about this scene beyond the fight itself, is that I got to write four particular characters in the same scene for the first time. That was a lot of fun. As I explained in the seventh part of my ‘Creation of the Fire Angel Universe’ blog, the trilogy sees a lot of characters whom I’ve previously introduced, meeting for the first time.

Last week I told you how it had taken me a while to get going on the first chapter of this book, struggling to find that opening line, until I eventually managed to get going, but now that’s all behind me and I’ve finished that chapter as well. So that’s two chapters down, the first thirteen chapters in progress, as well as the last fifteen, plus a few middle chapters too. This story is picking up quite well!

I’ve also mentioned before how I like to plan ahead; well, this week has been no different. Since this is the final book of the Scorched Earth trilogy, it’s time to begin delving more into what comes next. I’ve started by beginning to create two of five new characters who will make their debut in the first post-Scorched Earth book, and I already have big plans for them! While working on these characters, I also found a window in which I can start building towards another storyline. So with that tease guys, I leave you till next week.

    1. Here we are, Chris.

Once the others reluctantly ran off down the corridor, Maya strode forward, her eyes locked onto those of her adversary as Tuleer too made its way towards her. They met in the center of the circular platform and began circling, never taking their eyes off each other as they twirled their weapons demonstrating their skills much as they had that night when they’d met before they both charged and their weapons clashed!
